Emirates Cabin Crew Open Days in August & September 2026: Africa and Europe Recruitment Guide
If becoming an Emirates cabin crew member has been sitting somewhere on your dream list, this might be the moment to stop dreaming about it and start preparing.
Every year, aspiring cabin crew members across Africa, Europe and other parts of the world watch the Emirates careers page, waiting for that familiar announcement: Emirates is coming to your city.
But there is something aspiring crew need to understand.
Emirates does not recruit in every country in the same way.
Some locations have Open Days, where eligible candidates can attend the advertised recruitment event, while other locations have invitation only assessment events, where candidates must apply online and be selected before attending.
Emirates currently states that candidates who cannot attend an assessment day in their home country can check its website for Open Days in other countries and attend one of the listed events.
So, if you are sitting in Africa wondering, “Why isn’t Emirates coming to my country?” do not give up yet.
There may be another route.
Emirates Cabin Crew Recruitment in Africa
One thing I have noticed over the years is that Middle Eastern airlines do not always conduct traditional Open Days across African countries as frequently as they do in Europe.
That does not mean African candidates are excluded.
Instead, Emirates often lists invitation only recruitment events in selected African cities.
This distinction is extremely important.
If an event is marked Open Day, you can attend the advertised event after reviewing the requirements and following the instructions provided by Emirates.
If it is marked Invite Only, you must apply online and be selected for an invitation before attending. Emirates explicitly states that candidates must complete an online application to be selected for its invitation only recruitment events.

The official Emirates page currently confirms Casablanca on 19 August, Pretoria on 26 August, Tunis on 30 August, Durban on 12 September, Monastir on 13 September and Fez on 24 September as invitation only events.
What does this mean for an African applicant?
It means you should not sit at home and conclude that your dream is over simply because Emirates is not holding an Open Day in your country.
If you meet the requirements, you can create your Emirates careers profile, apply online and monitor the recruitment events.
And if Emirates eventually announces an Open Day in another African country, you can consider attending.
This is where I always tell aspiring crew something important.
There is nothing wrong with saving money to attend a recruitment event in another country.
But understand that it is a 50/50 investment.
You could travel and receive an opportunity to progress.
You could also travel and not make it past the assessment.
However, even if you are unsuccessful, you have gained something valuable: interview experience.
You have seen how the airline conducts its recruitment process. You have experienced the environment. You have interacted with other candidates. You have learned what you need to improve.
That experience can make your next interview better.
Just make sure you can afford the trip and that you have verified the recruitment information before spending your money.
Emirates Cabin Crew Open Days in Europe
Europe is a different story.
Emirates regularly travels to European cities to recruit cabin crew, and the August 2026 schedule shows a particularly busy period.

And notice something interesting.
The United Kingdom appears repeatedly.
Emirates has recruitment activity across different UK cities, including Edinburgh, London Gatwick, Manchester and London Heathrow during this period.
For aspiring crew who already have the right to travel to the UK, this could create additional opportunities to attend an Emirates Open Day.
But remember, recruitment dates can change.
Always check the official Emirates careers page before travelling.
What About September 2026?
The recruitment does not stop when August ends.
Emirates has also listed Open Days across Europe and other locations during September.

That is why I always encourage aspiring cabin crew to keep checking airline careers pages.
Recruitment is not static.
A city that has no recruitment event today could have one tomorrow.
Can You Attend an Emirates Open Day Outside Your Country?
This is one of the questions I know many aspiring crew in Africa will be asking.
The answer from Emirates is encouraging.
Emirates says that if you cannot attend an assessment day in your country, you can check its website for Open Days happening in other countries and attend one of those listed events.
This is important for aspiring crew in countries where Emirates does not regularly conduct Open Days.
For example, you might live in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda or another African country and discover that there is no Emirates Open Day currently scheduled near you.
That does not automatically mean you cannot pursue the opportunity.
You can monitor the Emirates careers page.
You can apply online.
You can watch for recruitment events in other countries.
And if you decide to travel, make sure you have done your homework first.
Before You Book That Flight, Check These Things
Please do not see an Open Day announcement and immediately book a flight.
Take a breath.
Read the requirements.
Check the event status.
Check whether you need to register or simply walk in.
Check the venue.
Check the time.
Check your passport and travel requirements.
Check your finances.
Most importantly, check the official Emirates careers website again immediately before you travel.
Recruitment dates and locations can change.
The official Emirates cabin crew requirements currently include being at least 21 years old, having a minimum of Grade 12 education, at least one year of hospitality or customer service experience, being at least 160 cm tall with a 212 cm reach, being fluent in written and spoken English, meeting UAE employment visa requirements and having no visible tattoos while wearing the Emirates cabin crew uniform.
Do not assume that because you have seen a recruitment poster on TikTok, Instagram or Facebook that the information is still valid.

What Happens at an Emirates Recruitment Day?
If you have never attended an international airline assessment before, you may be wondering what actually happens when you walk through those doors.
According to Emirates, candidates can expect an interactive assessment process that includes group discussions and activities, followed by individual interviews. The airline says these activities give candidates an opportunity to demonstrate teamwork, communication and problem solving, while individual interviews explore areas such as motivation and customer service experience.
So this is not simply a beauty contest.
You are being assessed as a potential member of a professional safety and service team.
That means your attitude matters.
Your communication matters.
Your ability to work with people matters.
Your maturity matters.
Your ability to listen matters.
Your ability to remain calm matters.
And your understanding of what the cabin crew job actually involves matters.
Do Not Travel for the Glamour
This is where I want to speak directly to aspiring crew.
I have worked in aviation for many years, and I can tell you that the beautiful uniform, international destinations and Instagram pictures are only one part of the story.
A flight attendant is an employee.
You will work.
You will work with people from different backgrounds.
You will work with colleagues you like and colleagues you may not immediately connect with.
You will work with senior crew.
You will follow procedures.
You will deal with difficult passengers.
You will be expected to represent the airline professionally.
You are not a child whose candy was stolen.
You are an adult who wants to achieve something in life.
That means you need to approach this career with maturity.
You need to understand that every airline has its advantages and disadvantages.
Emirates may be perfect for one person and completely wrong for another.
The same applies to Qatar Airways, Etihad, British Airways, Delta, Riyadh Air and every other airline.
Know what fits your goals.
Do you want to live in Dubai?
Are you comfortable relocating?
Can you work with a multicultural team?
Are you prepared for the lifestyle?
Are you prepared for the discipline?
Are you prepared to put safety before service?
Are you prepared to represent a global brand?
Are you ready to adhere to rules, policies and procedures?
These are questions worth answering before you ever walk into the assessment room.
Your Recruitment Journey Does Not Have to Start in Your Country
One of the biggest lessons I want aspiring crew in Africa to take from this article is simple.
Your location does not have to define the size of your dream.
If an airline does not come to your country, keep watching.
If an Open Day is announced somewhere else and you can realistically afford to attend, consider it.
If you are not selected, learn from the experience.
If you fail one airline assessment, prepare and try another.
The only constant in life is change.
Airlines change their recruitment strategies.
Recruitment locations change.
Requirements can change.
New airlines launch.
New routes open.
New opportunities appear.
Your job is to stay prepared enough to recognise the opportunity when it arrives.

Do not rely solely on screenshots, social media posts or information forwarded in WhatsApp groups.
